Paneled Appliances in your Kitchen

Covering refrigerators and dishwashers with cabinetry panels is a trend in kitchen design that appeals to many of our clients. We include this feature in our plans in order to create a seamless, cohesive design.

In this particular kitchen, we used a mix of white painted and quarter sawn white oak cabinetry. We used the oak for the paneled refrigerator as well, which helps to create a chic, sleek look. A stainless fridge without paneling would have detracted from the aesthetic our client desired.

By adding panels to your refrigerator and dishwasher, you can make your appliances almost invisible, creating a classic and timeless look that can help your kitchen to feel more like another room in your home for people to gather, rather than a utilitarian space.

If you are considering paneled appliances, you’ll need to decide before you buy. Panel-ready appliances are different than your standard variation and come unfinished and ready to be covered with a panel that matches the rest of your cabinet drawers and doors.

To complete the seamless look, we recommend a flush installation for all appliances so they don't protrude from the rest of our cabinetry.
